just because you obey God doesn’t mean you love Him.
Many people obey their bosses but that doesn’t mean they love them.
Love God. This is what Jesus God says about that
Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
–Matthew 22:37 (NKJV)
who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
–Acts 8:15 (NKJV)
We can see that praying to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a must. Let’s read the story in context.
Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
–Acts 8:14-17 (NKJV)
Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
–Acts 8:13 (NKJV)
There is nothing like the power of God. Even a man who had practiced working with the power of darkness came to Jesus. He followed around Philip and was amazed at what God did.
Entrust your efforts to the Lord,
and your plans will succeed.
–Proverbs 16:3 (GWT)
Or in the New King Jimmy
Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
-Proverbs 16:3 (NKJV)
Give it all to Him!
Praise God! Yujis dad accepted Jesus last night I the hospital in Saga. We’re believing for his full recovery.
Where no oxen are, the trough is clean;
But much increase comes by the strength of an ox.
-Proverbs 14:4 (NKJV)
If you’re managing people, you know it’s not easy. We must remember, it’s not always easy with people but you need people to make things happen. Without people, everything is clean and in order, you just have no growth.
Where there are no cattle, the feeding trough is empty,
but the strength of an ox produces plentiful harvests.
–Proverbs 14:4 (GWT)
Heaven on earth
While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”
–Acts 5:4 (NKJV)
What happened to Ananias and Sapphira? Why did they die? In God’s presence evil and sin cannot exist. Here in Acts we see that they ‘conceived’ this plan to sell property and give it to the church. There was nothing wrong with giving to your church. However, these people wanted attention. They wanted glory for giving but they were cheating. They should have just said they wanted to give a percentage of the proceedings of the sale. Not say that they were giviing everything and just giving a percentage.
Ananias and Sapphira were judged for their hypocrisy and lying to God, not for their decision to retain some of their personal property for themselves.
