After living in Tokyo for so long, fascinating to see another old city on the other side of the world.  Not as old as Jerusalem or even Yaffa the port just South, but interesting mix.  Welcome to the Middle East!

Romans 7:5-6 (NKJV)For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.

Romans 6:7-12 (GWTransl)

The person who has died has been freed from sin.

If we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, who was brought back to life, will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him. When he died, he died once and for all to sin’s power. But now he lives, and he lives for God. So consider yourselves dead to sin’s power but living for God in the power Christ Jesus gives you.

Therefore, never let sin rule your physical body so that you obey its desires.
