Stomach In Your Throat
Ever had you stomach jump up to your mouth? May sound strange, but I think that happens when you have a near tragic experience.
This morning my wife drove myself and two of my children to the station. I was sitting in the front seat and could see everything that was happening.
The upcoming light had turned red for 2 full seconds and she continued barreling down the street ready to run the light at that busy intersection. I could see she was going to run it. Scary, as I have seen a car pulverize a man on a scooter at that same intersection. Not a good place to break the law.
I shouted, “Stop!” and thankfully she did. If she wouldn’t have, would for of us be in heaven today? I don’t know but as I write this my stomach is still in my throat.
The End Of The American Empire
Since 2006, I have been talking about the end of the American empire. With the current government in the US and the phenomenal spending on the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, we see the value of the dollar tumbling. Wasn’t this what we saw in the British Empire? A country over-extending itself and eventually caving in?
Furthermore, history shows us similar things with the Spanish, the Vikings, the Portuguese, and even the Roman empires. What is particularly of interest is the connection between the decline in the morality of the empire (or country) and the corresponding decline in their influence.

Have you ever dealt with someone cranky?
Today, In the office we were laughing to hear about the 20 year asian female skater who is publishing her life-story. Must be a short book? I am slightly older and feel I still have so much to learn. We’ve got to keep open minds.
One thing I have learned in life is that when you deal with someone cranky it is best not to take it personal. If you could look into their lives, you will likely see that they have some issues in their life. It is usually their relationship with their spouse, but financial challenges, loneliness and all sorts of other things could contribute to their stress. Don’t let them get it on you!
