Finally!  A Bible App I can Use In English (NKJV) and Japanese (Shinkaiyaku)

We have been using and recommending Olivetree software’s Bible Study App since the days of the Palm Pilot PDA (the early 2000s). It has NKJV, Dakes, the SpiritFilled Life Bible and the Strongs Concordance and nearly everything you need for Bible Study on your Mac, Windows, Tablet or Smartphone .

The founder sold off the company. One Sunday morning,  I had trouble with the app hanging. Unfortunately it was hanging during the time I was copying my English Bible passages to my notes with my Japanese for our Sunday celebration at Victory Word Center.  Bugger!

It got me thinking that it was time to find out what was on the market.  I am sure glad I did.  Years ago I purchased Bible software from Accordance that was just Mac software at the time.  I never really used it as I had used Biblesoft’s PC Study Bible and ended up going straight to Olivetree.  Well, Biblesoft has pretty much orphaned their product from what you can see from online reviews.  They don’t have any online demos and it’s a big deal to give you a software download (they wanted to ship DVDs.. which is a cost we don’t need to pay).  Olivetree’s visionary is gone so it seems like the future may not be sure for them.

Decided to give Accordance Bible Software a whirl.  So glad I did.  Found that I could get the best available Japanese bible translation along with our favorite English translations… the NKJV, God’s Word Translation and even the Dakes Study Bible from them.  VERY cool.  As you can see from the above, you can see both the Japanese and the English.  Just need the FURIGANA in the Japanese and it would be perfect.

Liked Accordance so much that I actually bought the Tagalog version as well!  Will keep you posted.

By the way, I did a review of Bible versions and study Bibles on the Word of Faith show.  You can check that out below.

Don’t We Talk To Our Kids Anymore?

Holliday in Japan today. Many people are off. Recently you see a lot of parents distracted by their smartphones. The parents are on the subway train, a restaurant table, or even in the car just staring into their mobile device while the kids sit there. Don’t we talk to our kids anymore?

Refuse to be taken over by your device, your app, or the Internet. What you put in to your kid (time, love, conversations) is what you will get out later.

What Are You Thinking About?

Prov. 16:3 Commit your works to the LORD,
And your thoughts will be established.Prov. 16:3 あなたのしようとすることを【主】にゆだねよ。
 そうすれば、 あなたの計画はゆるがない。
You want to overcome that problem?  You want to be victorious over the situation?  It all comes down to what you are thinking about.

If you don’t know Jesus, it’s easy to worry, fret or be fearful. Once you know Jesus, that is no longer necessary. What do you do?

Spend time with God every day. Read His Word(the Bible), pray, and spend time listening to Him. Also surround yourself with strong people who know Him. If you want to be a champion, you have to run with the champions.

Proverbs 16:3 also promises us one thing you’ve got to know. If you commit what you are doing to the Lord, you will be able to think straight. You’ll have great thoughts. Commit everything you do to the Lord and you’ll have great ideas!  Don’t you want that?  I do.

Say it out loud now-

Lord I love you and I serve you. Everything I do I commit to you and I ask you to guide me. I want you to have your hand on everything I do. I thank you that I have great ideas every day because you cover me. Thank you. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.

Really Rich People Don’t Ever Talk About It

Proverbs 13:7 (NKJV Strong’s,)There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing; And one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.

Prov. 13:7 富んでいるように見せかけ、
 何も持たない者がいる。
 貧しいように見せかけ、
 多くの財産を持つ者がいる。

If someone says they have a lot of money in a bragging way, chances are they don’t really have that much. Really rich people never show it. This means the people who have more money than most of us can imagine.

The whole idea behind luxury brands such as watches; bags, pens, jewelry, and expensive clothing is more about targeting those people who want to put on the image of being rich.

Jesus Had Made YOU Rich

But have you received it?

2 Corinthians 8:9 (NKJV Strong’s,)

For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
