Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.

Acts 8:13
Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.
Simon had people thinking he was working the power of God. People believed it was the power of God. They were duped by the dark side. In the end, Simon knew he was lost and despite all the so called signs he could perform through dark powers. He knew he had no hope. He came to Philip and met Jesus.
We all need Jesus!

Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business;
What kind of people should we choose to help run our businesses, our churches, our schools, our courts, our governments?
Acts 6 says
People with a good reputation
People filled with the Holy Spirit
People with wisdom
If we follow these three guidelines of the early church, we’ll have better days of work, and sounder sleep at night. Praise God!

How To Get To Heaven
Many know John 14:6 where Jesus says He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to our Heavenly Father except through Him. That’s clear.
In Acts, Peter makes it pretty clear that’s what he believes as well. He tells the religious people, upset because God healed someone through Peters faith prayer,
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
