Some people are unwilling to think or logically evaluate the truth. They judge a document or a person before they’ve actually read the thing for themselves or met the person. Pre judging something is literally ‘prejudice’.
Some are very quick to judge someone as a sexist, racist, leftist, rightist, or whatever, if another’s opinion doesn’t line up with their perceived thoughts about something. We live in a world where people don’t think, don’t read, and don’t dare say what they think for fear of ‘rocking the boat’.
As a believer, we are called to be salt and light. However, we need to have strategy much like a board game. If you say or respond how will others react or even perceive you or your church family. It can be a major challenge to know what to do or say. But that’s why we have to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I like Luke 12 that says
For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
–Luke 12:12 (NKJV)
The world, religious people, and the forces of hell may work against believers but if we walk in God’s ways, He will give us the words to say and the wisdom we need.
Choose your battles wisely. There is no need to respond to everything. You can be led by the Spirit and choose. Be like a Texas duck, when the rains come pounding down, the water will bounce right off your spiritual feathers as you are covered. It’s not about all the little battles, it’s about winning the spiritual war.
