Enjoy a good sandwich… the common American lunch. However, these bento box lunches in Tokyo sure look designed.
First Day In New Tokyo Victory Word Church

Cool New Custom Leather Covered Bible
Been looking for a thin NKJV Bible with a thumb index for over two years. Finally found one but the leather cover was not really leather. Thomas Nelson owns the copyrights for the New King James Version(translation) of the Bible and publishes versions with bonded leather and genuine leather. (Interestingly enough, both the company that owns the New International Version, Zondervan, as well as Thomas Nelson are owned a large publisher not exactly known for following Jesus, Harper-Collins. Harper Collins is currently owned by Rupert Murduch’s News Corp).
The bonded leather is just scraps of leather that have been thrown together to make a binding. Genuine leather is supposed to be one cut or solid piece of cowhide. Genuine leather used to be acceptable but bonded would only last for a year of you read your Bible. Now it’s hard to tell which is which as the quality is low and we’ve heard that if it doesn’t say cowhide it is likely pigskin (sounds like a football).
The size of the Bible, the thumb index and all were good. But the binding was bad.
Therefore, after buying it at the Supermall Christian book store in Auburn Washington we immediately shipped it to AA Leather in Florida.
It’s not cheap but if you want to know God, you have to know His Word. Got a new Forest Green Cowhide cover with additional pages and 5 marker ribbons added to the Book. It looks great!
Here’s the finished work.
Looking forward to years of service from this copy.
Excitement Is Building For New Tokyo Church
Tokyo’s Best Church Moves!
Victory Word Church rocks! You guys are the best. I have not seen such a church family that worked so hard. We opened our first facility in Tokyo 22 May 2005 and used this facility until today 27 May 2012.
People have been healed, financial breakthroughs have occurred, the homeless have been helped, people who don’t know Jesus have heard the Word, and countless other events and parties occurred in this first little church of ours. Our largest event in Tokyo had 83 people in this place. We’re believing God for even greater things to happen.

Our new place will be ready on Saturday so we stashed much of our sound equipment and stage into whatever extra space we could find.
We didn’t get a picture of everyone (above) but special things to the 20 plus people who worked diligently to get us out of the old building.
I am stoked to get into our new Tokyo church facility on Sunday. We move equipment into the new place on Saturday from 5pm. It will be very nice.
Researchers believe that Jesus, as described in the New Testament, was crucified on Friday April 3, 33 A.D.
This is very interesting as it just confirms what we already know.
In terms of textual clues to the date of the crucifixion, Williams quoted a Nature paper authored by Colin Humphreys and Graeme Waddington. Williams summarized their work as follows:
- All four gospels and Tacitus in Annals (XV,44) agree that the crucifixion occurred when Pontius Pilate was procurator of Judea from 26-36 AD.
- All four gospels say the crucifixion occurred on a Friday.
- All four gospels agree that Jesus died a few hours before the beginning of the Jewish Sabbath (nightfall on a Friday).
- The synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) indicate that Jesus died before nightfall on the 14th day of Nisan; right before the start of the Passover meal.
- John’s gospel differs from the synoptics; apparently indicating that Jesus died before nightfall on the 15th day of Nisan.
