“The moment you commit..”

Napoleon Hill

“The moment you commit and quit holding back, all sorts of unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance will rise up to help you. The simple act of commitment is a powerful magnet for help.”

Whatever You Do

Ps 1:3
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
NKJV

Whatever?  What a great word.  In Japanese, nandemo is the way we say that.  It is such an open opportunity.  The Almighty God is our God of opportunity.  He turns a moon worshiper (Abraham) to a father of many nations.  He turned one of the youngest boys (Joseph) in a large family to the 2nd in command of the most powerful nation of the time.  He transformed an illiterate plumber in the UK from an unknown to one of the greatest ministers of all time (Smith Wigglesworth).  He turned a pastor’s son with no college degree into an anointed pastor of the fastest growing church in America (Joel Osteen).

God is the god of opportunity.  He has a great plan for all of us but we must step into that plan.  Without stepping into the plan we have a simple life that can be downright mundane.  But when you accept the calling God has for you, you can change your world for Jesus the Messiah.

I picture a guy working in a factory in Japan.  They make products that are shipped all around Japan and even to some other nations.  This guy works with other foreigners but even more Japanese.  In his prayer time and time in the Word, he gets so filled with the love of God for his coworkers that he begins to pray and intercede for them daily.  In a matter of weeks, the job becomes very easy.  People feel such peace when they go to the work-place that they begin to enjoy work more, all because one guy decided to stand in the gap for the men and women he works with.

God moves on the place and people get saved at lunch, after work, at break times. People start coming to church and get excited about the word of God.  They see the awesome opportunity that God made for them and tell others.  Revival breaks out in Japan. God is all over that Japanese factory because one guy decided to pray and share the Word about the Messiah and how his life was changed.  His actions changed a factory, changed a church, changed an area, changed a nation!

God has an opportunity lined up for you.  Will you take it?  Will you step up and pray for you workplace, your family, your neighborhood?  Will you be bold and tell your hurting friend that Jesus can heal that hurt?  Will you lay hands on the sick and pray the prayer of faith over them?  Will you bless the poor so that they can get a hold of God’s Word and grab on to God’s Biblical plan of prosperity for them.  When you do, you will be so glad you did.

Revival is coming to Japan!  Revival is coming to your nation.  Revival starts with each and every one of us; right where we are, right where we work.  Don’t miss the opportunity.

Shutting Down Free Speech

Having just come back from the California, it is shocking to see things like this happen. This is very interesting political commentary from Chuck Colson. A scary thought to have the United States of America losing it freedom and open society.

Shutting Down Free Speech
The Gay Agenda Triumphant

July 25, 2007

It doesn’t pay to take your constitutional right to free speech seriously anymore — at least, not if you live in Oakland, California. There, a handful of African-American Christian women recently found out that their free speech rights had effectively been outlawed.

The women, who are Oakland government employees, had formed an organization called the Good News Employee Association. As their flyer put it, their group was, “A forum for people of Faith to express their views on the contemporary issues of the day. With Respect for the Natural Family, Marriage, and Family Values.”

As columnist George Will relates, the women posted their flyer after other employee groups, including those advocating gay rights, had advertised their activities on the city’s email system and bulletin board. When Good News asked for equal opportunity, they were told to forget it. City officials destroyed their flyer. They accused the women of Good News of being “determined to promote harassment based on sexual orientation. If the women posted any more flyers, or sent their message via email, the city warned, they would be disciplined and perhaps terminated.

In effect, as Will notes, Oakland “has proscribed any speech that even one person might say questioned the gay rights agenda and therefore created what that person felt was a “hostile environment.” While homosexual rights groups used the city’s email system to advertise “Happy Coming Out Day,” the terms “natural family” and “marriage” and “family values” are considered intolerably inflammatory, he adds.

This is why so-called “hate crimes” laws, like the one being considered by the U.S. Congress, are so dangerous. They can be used as a weapon to censor peaceful political speech that someone doesn’t like. The goal of homosexual groups is not to stop violence, or truly hateful speech; it’s to silence anyone who says that homosexual behavior is a biological disorder or a moral wrong. Mere disagreement is redefined as hate.

The Good News group has gone to court over Oakland’s attack on their First Amendment rights, and the super-liberal Ninth Circuit Court, not surprisingly, has ruled against them. The group now hopes the Supreme Court will intervene.

You and I need to be aware of attempts to encroach on our right to speak out against moral evils. We must also understand that this is ultimately a spiritual battle.

The Bible and natural law teachings tell us that God’s law is written upon our hearts and are known to all. As Christian philosopher J. Budziszewski writes in his book, THE REVENGE OF CONSCIENCE, those who rationalize their sins find it to be so much work that they require other people to support them in it. Society itself must be transformed so that it no longer stands in awful judgment.

This is why gay activist groups want to change the law to suppress any speech that identifies homosexual behavior as either a biological disorder or a moral wrong.

You and I must pray for those who are caught up in homosexuality; their lives are tragic. But we must also remember that, as the Apostle Paul puts it, we must witness to the truth, no matter what human lawmakers say or do, because we owe our ultimate allegiance to the eternal lawgiver: God.

The Japanese, Sex And Family

The Japanese, Sex And Family

With a topic like sex, I am sure we’ve got your attention. In Japan, sex is a youthful thing. There is really no Judeo-Christian standard of sex being something being saved for marriage. But it is definitely not something two young people do at home. A whole industry sprung up called ‘love hotels’. More appropriately, they should be called sex hotels as they are just designed to give people a room to do something that husbands and wives are usually doing at home.

What has happened a lot in the Japanese society is pre-marital sex has been rampant. Youth have gotten pregnant and gotten married (which is a heck of a lot better than killing the baby through having an abortion which does happen) to take account for their actions. There is some abortion of babies as abortion in Japan is the lazy form of ‘birth-control`.

Young Japanese Family

Once married the young couple ends up raising their children. Traditionally the Japanese wife stays at home with the family while the husband goes to work. Usually, the wife controls the bank account and budgets for the family. Unlike other countries, Japan does not allow joint bank accounts.

As time passes, the parents are focused on their kids but not too much on their relationships with each other. Many times the relationship goes cold as love is something that needs to be cherished and developed. When the children leave the home, the parents don’t have that much to talk about. Divorce in general has been taboo, but with laws are changing where wives can get half of their husbands worth.

In Japan, there are many Japanese married to foreigners. Many Japanese men married to foreign women, and many Japanese women married to western men. In general, ladies from the Philippines are known for looking after their usually aging husbands better than Japanese women. At the same time, American men are known for treating Japanese women better as there is the cultural sense of chivalry that American tend to have. For example, opening the door, walking behind the lady, giving her attention that a Japanese guy would usually not give.

One interesting phenomenon we have seen with many Japanese women married to Westerners is related directly to sex. American couples usually have very active sex lives. However, after a few years of marriage Japanese women tend to start to withhold themselves from their husbands. We have even heard of Japanese wives telling their western husbands if they want to have sex so often then they should ‘get a girlfriend’. How pathetic!

Men have a very strong sex drive and withholding yourself from your husband is very harmful to a marriage and the family as a whole. Of course, if the drive is out of your marriage then you need to do something about it. What can a husband and wife do to make their marriage deeper?

Seven Things That Bring Increase

God wants you to prosper.  God wants you to increase.  But to increase in this world according to God’s plan you have to keep a few things in mind.  Seven things that bring increase are

1) Walking In Truth (Holiness)

The Word says to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then all these things shall be added to you.  You have to keep your life holy and right before God.

2) Faithfulness
Proverbs- A faithful man shall abound with blessings. If you are faithful to your church, faithful to spending time with God, faithful to the family of believers, then you are in a position to be blessed.

3) Diligence

About the Word of God.  If you want to increase you have to be diligent.  You have to be in the Word today.  You can’t live off of what the energy, guidance, and revelations you got from Father God yesterday.

4) Tithing
The basis for financial breakthrough.  I have never met a cheerful tither who wasn’t blessed.  I have met many people not tithing who were in financial shipwreck.  Honor God with the firstfruits of your income and He will honor you back.

5) Sowing
Give and it shall be given to you.  God is the number one giver.  For God so loved the World that He GAVE.  If you want to be blessed you’ve got to remember you are tithing 10% of your income to your local church, but really all of what you have belongs to Him.  Also, you can’t be afraid to give to others.  Time, effort, money, love, care, a listening ear… people need to know that God cares and we are His human hands and feet on this earth right now.

6) Believing

Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.  If you do not believe the good news God has planned for you, don’t expect much to happen.  But if you believe, you release the power of God to act in your life.  What?  That’s right, when you believed that Jesus the Messiah was your Savior and accepted Him, and believed the work he did for you then you were saved.

7) Saying

This is probably where most believers blow it.  They believe initially but then what they say after wards changes what they have said.  I believe God is going to get me free from this credit card debt.  But after praying that and believing that in church, they start saying things like I don’t know how God is going to get us out of this debt… Faith is saying what you expect not what you have.  Everyone knows what you have.  But you want to set your expectation according to God’s Word and walk in the increase He has for you.

If your neighbor hates you, give him land

That is exactly what is going on in the Arab-Israeli conflict. Israeli is being pressured by outside governments (US, Russia, EU) to give the Palestinians control of the land of Israeli.

This is a very short-sighted solution for an age old conflict.

This week we read about Tony Blair’s next job and his priority of ‘making a Palestinian state’. The whole situation is actually quite confusing to a person just trying to understand the situation. Norma Parrish Archbold in her book, “The Mountains of Israel” makes some very interesting points. If you don’t understand the history, you wouldn’t know that Palestine was actually created by the British. Jordan is a result of much of that.

Ms. Archbold makes it very clear that she believes that there is already a Palestinian state. If the terrorists want their own place to operate, then they should move to Jordan. She makes it also clear that Israel should never give any land because the land is an intrinsic part of Israel.

More on this.

The Mission Message- Single and Concise

Can everything your organization stands for be boiled down into a single concise message? It can, and it should be. At least if you want people to make a heart connection with it.

Jesus knew this. On one occasion some scholars asked him to summarize the entire Old Testament. Jesus was able to do so on the spot. He said the entire law can be boiled down to this: “Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself.”

My question for you is: “Do you have a clear, concise message with which your staff and customers can connect?”

Overflowing With The Favor of God

Prov 3:3,4

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart,
4 And so find favor and high esteem
In the sight of God and man.  NKJV

As you study, meditate and pray the Word of God you will see differences in your life and God will bring honor to you.  You r relationship with God directly affects your relationship with others.  How do you develop your relationship with God?

By spending time reading, praying, and meditating His Word.  The best model for prayer is modeled after the word Psalm.
Praise – Enter God’s presence with praise and thank Him for your great family, health, growing influence and His works in your live
Surrender- Surrender everything to Him.  All of your worries, cares, temptations… everything to Him.
Ask- Ask Him for what you need.
Listen- Listen to what He has to say.  (This is the best part)
Meditate- Meditate on His Word.  What does meditate mean?  It means to think about or think on.

As you follow this simple model, your prayer life will be energized.  Then you will find favor with people around you.  But more importantly, favor with God.  When you are walking in the favor of God, nothing can stop you.

Long Lives and Heavenly Peace- The Favor of God

Is the favor of God operating in your life?  If not, then you should check why.  God has an awesome plan for you.  He wants you to live a long and peaceful life.

Prov 3:1,2
My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
2 For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you.  NKJV

The key is, we need to stay in His Word.  As we stay in meditate, pray, and study His Word our spirits become more in tune with God and His ways.  We will know exactly what direction he has for our lives.  Whether we are to start a business, or work for another.  Whether to marry some particular person or keep them as a good friend, God knows exactly what is right for us.

According to Proverbs 3:1,2, if we keep His Word, he will give us longer more productive days, a longer life, and lots of heavenly peace. Peace that people cannot understand.  When the world is caving in around people losing their jobs, having marital trouble, not knowing what to do for their children we know exactly what to do.  We know His Word, and we know His peace.  Live long and live strong.  What a testimony of God’s goodness in our lives.  Hallelujah!
