What Type Of People Should Be In Church Leadership?

…if a man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of dissipation or insubordination. For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but hospitable, a lover of what is good, sober-minded, just, holy, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.
Titus 1:6-9 (NKJV)

Good families are a sign of great parents. Let’s be outstanding fathers and mothers.

Psalms 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.

The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Your Mission Is To Introduce People To Jesus Every Day

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
2 Timothy 4:1-2 (NKJV)

We must be ready at all times to share the WORD with people. The Bible is THE WORD. John chapter 1 says the Word is Jesus. They are one in the same. We must know Jesus and share His love.

Are We Living In The Last Days?

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NKJV)

If you ask, if we are living in the last days the answer can be found in 2 Timothy. Absolutely, we are living in the times just before God Jesus will return. If you look at the increase of violence, sexual deviance, and level of selfish acts alone that has occurred over the last 50 years it is clear we better get ready and introduce as many people to Jesus as possible. The consequences are eternal.

Why Did Mass Murderer Stephen Paddock Kill Innocent Unarmed People In Las Vegas?

Seeing innocent people killed just for being at a certain place at a certain tine is more than just tragic.  We can look at the world around us and blame people’s evil actions on psychological unbalances, traumatic life experiences, mental disorders, or something else.  However, if you know God you know there is more going around us than just what we can see with our physical eyes.

Retired accountant Stephen Paddock fired a rifle into a crowd with the total intention of killing as many people as possible.  This is not normal or humane.  This is not a mental health issue.  It’s pure darkness, pure evil.  Chances are he didn’t know any of the people he murdered.  Why would he do it?  He decided to follow the demonic voices that spoke to him. It was his choice and he was doing the bidding of the forces of hell that desire to extinguish every innocent human they can.  Christians are here to stop and defeat the darkness.  It’s time we do it.  Recognize murderers are motivated by their decision and demons who want to kill.  If you don’t what spiritual warfare is; we must learn now.

There’s only one way humans can connect to God the Father

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus…
1Tim. 2:5

1Tim. 2:5 神は唯一です。 また、 神と人との間の仲介者も唯一であって、 それは人としてのキリスト・イエスです。

If you want to know God, you must know Jesus. There is NO other way. Some people say everything leads to God, ‘all roads lead to Rome’. All trains don’t go to Tokyo.

You’ve got to know Jesus personally.

The Danger Of Sexual Sin

But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully,
knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,

according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

1Tim. 1:8-11

In the first letter to Pastor Timothy in the Bible we see some things that may not be so politicially correct or “PC” to our generation. People don’t want to hear the truth. However, sexual sinners such as homosexuals are put into the same category as liars, murderers and kidnappers.

We know from Revelations 21:8 that homosexuals will be thrown into hell. But here in 1 Timothy we see the fornicators, which is also sexual sin, shall be with them. What is fornication?  Fornication is extramarital sex. That’s sex between an unmarried couple. Sexual sin is serious and grounds for separation from God.

If you are involved in homosexual acts or sex with whom you are not married, be warned. You may not be lying, cheating, or stealing, but if you continue in sexual sin it will forever separate you from God if you don’t stop immediately.

Don’t be duped, serve the Lord with gladness but also serve the Lord in purity.

Take Your Thinking Higher

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
Colossians 3:1-2 (NKJV)

If you want to take your life to the next level, you can’t think like you’ve done up to now. It’s time to be more like God.

Be more like God?  Yes!  Jesus tells us to be like the Father who is perfect. When you practice sports with strong people, you become so much stronger than practicing with a bunch of lazy unmotivated people.

Your future starts by how you think. When your thinking is right, then your talking comes in line. If you want to know someone’s thoughts, just listen to what they say for a day. It’s very revealing.

Take your thinking higher. Talk like God talks. Love like God loves. Live in victory like God lives.  Seek these things. Seek means go after. Let’s go after more of God.

Complaining Connects You To The World and Disconnects You From God

Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
Philippians 2:14-15 (NKJV)

What makes Christians different from unbelievers?  A lot!  When you  talk like an unbeliever you give God no power in your life. In fact, you open yourself up to the forces of hell. When you speak Gods Word in your daily life, you give God something to work with.

We should be passionately positive when we deal with people. While unbelievers have the opportunity to exist along side is on the earth, you have a chance to be the light of God in their lives.

Don’t let yourself sink to the low levels of this world. The world becomes more perverse, more vulgar, and dark. You, shining the light of the Good News of Jesus the Lord, will blow away the worlds darkness where you are.   Whenever you feel like complaining, just hold you tongue and turn that thought into something positive. That connects you with God and disconnects you from the messes around you.

If you don’t know what to say just praise God. Say, “Father I thank you for this great day and that YOU are blessing me above and beyond what I could ever ask or imagine.  I praise Your Holy Name.”

Preachers With Different Motivations

Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from goodwill:

Phil. 1:15

Have you ever met a mean pastor or evangelists?  When we look at Jesus mean is not a word that comes to mind. ‘Mean’ implies doing something wrong or evil to someone who is innocent.

One thing you will notice about people is they have different motivations. That includes pastors. In our lives, we have met a lot of ministers. You want to assume if someone is ‘doing’ ministry that they would have the heart of Jesus. Sadly, that’s not the case.

There are people who are building churches because they have competitive spirits that just want glory. Others are in ministry because they want to lead or control others. Here in Philippians we see that even in the early church people were preaching Jesus out of envy of someone else. They wanted to have that same big church as someone else.

What is your motivation for serving God. Do you serve Jesus because you love Him?  Let the sunrise on your relationship with God today. Put aside the distractions and serve the Almighty Father.
